About the UBA
The Uptown Business Association of New Westminster (UBA) was incorporated in 2013 and aims to support all the businesses in the geographical region known as Uptown New West, which is mainly the commercial district north of Royal Ave.
A Business Improvement Area (BIA) was established for Uptown in 2014. The UBA-BIA provides additional support to about 300 businesses between Fifth Ave and Eighth Ave, and between Fifth St and Eighth St. This area is filled with small businesses, large retail, non-profit groups, and services that make Uptown New Westminster the centre for everything. With a walkable geography, and so much variety in its offerings, Uptown is the place where the locals go to get things done.
The UBA produces the Uptown Live Summer Series, bringing live entertainment to pedestrian plazas and storefront patios all summer long, creating an invitation to slow down among the bustle and enjoy life in this vibrant, welcoming city.

Sheila Cameron
Sheila's background includes hospitality, accounting, communication, events management, and entrepreneurship. Her leadership skills are an asset to the UBA business community, and she is excited to see Uptown New West thrive!
What we do

The UBA organizes and facilitates events that drive business to the area, including Uptown Live Summer Series, Recovery Day, and other community-led activations.
The UBA works toward the vision of a beautiful and dynamic Uptown. We coordinate efforts between merchants, property owners, community groups, and municipality to improve streetscape and property within the UBA.
The UBA promotes Uptown businesses and organizations to residents and externally. We support existing events and engage with merchants and managers to amplify their products and services.
The UBA engages with the non-profit community to elevate the region of Uptown and provide meaningful impact to the area where we work, live, and shop.
The UBA is a strong voice for our members and the community that surrounds us. Our work attracts business to the area and promotes business within it.
